'Classroom of the Future' course (starts 1st Sep 08)
....a teacher development course delivered online
Why Classroom of the Future?
Building Schools for the Future (BSF) is the biggest ever school buildings investment programme. The aim is to rebuild or renew nearly every secondary school and 8,000 primary schools in England.
We have taken this programme and created a course tailored for schools and teachers working around the World - whether that be the remotest part of Africa or the busy cities of Asia. Central to the programme is making effective use of ICT to create a step-change in the educational outcomes of learners.
The step-change in teaching and learning will only happen if teachers and school leaders understand the potential and if ICT is integral to the education visions for their schools. This course aims to explore the potential of existing and emerging technologies for the classrooms of the future and implications for the initial teacher educators teacher, trainee teachers and school leaders.
How does the study take place?
The course is delivered online giving complete flexibility around when and where you study. All participants are given access to an on-line Tutor from The University of Cumbria. Participants will be encouraged to reflect on implications for their own practice and organisations using a learning log, completion of which leads to a University Award.
What is the cost of the course?
Course module documentation, online study, a dedicated Tutor, access to the University of Cumbria's resources and University Award costs £449.
