CPD Course ‘Every Child Matters’ – next course starts April 2010!

What does this course cover?

The Government's aim is for every child, whatever their background or their circumstance is to have the support they need to: Be healthy, stay safe, enjoy and achieve, make a positive contribution and achieve economic well-being. Every Child Matters: Change for Children is a new approach to the well-being of children and young people from birth to age 19. Organisations who are involved with providing services to children are teaming up in new ways to share information and work together, to protect children and young people from harm and help them achieve what they want in life. New opportunities will allow people to move between professions and future training will reflect the national Common core of skills and knowledge (2005), with an integrated qualifications framework in 2008-2010 to enhance employability opportunities. Recognising the importance of this agenda the Overseas Teachers Network and the University of Cumbria have developed a new fully online course to support colleagues in the international school sector develop an understanding of Every Child Matters.

How does the study take place?

The course will run for seven weeks, participants will be expected to invest 4-6 hours per week in the online learning and related reading and tasks. The course is open to the whole school workforce.

What is the cost of the course?

Course module documentation, online study, a dedicated Tutor, access to the University of Cumbria's resources and University Award costs £449.
